Description
I was given a set of oil paints some years ago by one of our children in the hope that I would take up art. Around that time we photographed a dead tree in a field of flowering Canola. This was on the road from Bredasdorp in the Western Cape to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa. So I painted it. I think that it turned out really well.
The colours are bright, the depth created by the dead tree and some blue gums in the distance is just right. We put it in an Old style heavy frame which pulls you right into the scene. This is a very special piece of art that is going to be difficult to let go. On the other hand it will be worth a lot of money after I’ve moved on and, at 71 that can’t be too far away.
