South Africa is a water scarce country and during 2015-2016 and indeed into 2017 and 2018 many parts of the country suffered extremely dry conditions. Vast areas of the northern and central regions were under enormous pressure. But as always the rains eventually come again and last year our summer rainfall areas had their biggest corn harvest ever. The winter rainfall region and large parts of the Northern Cape are still in the grip of deep and lengthy drought in the first quarter of 2018.
This piece is a tribute to those who toil each day to put food on our tables, whose faith in God, and His abundant provision should be an inspiration to us all.
