Description
This is Hout Bay Harbour, on what is commonly referred to in Cape Town as the “Atlantic Seaboard”.
The harbour is full of fishing boats and they come in all sizes and colours. They were there when I started this painting but I was concentrating so much on getting the mountains right that I never noticed them leaving harbour. Then I saw the sign – gone fishing – and that explained everything. In fact it was the man in the green overalls who pointed the sign out to me.
The white boat in the distance probably had a spot of engine trouble.
